DE YOUNG OPEN 2023 EXHIBITION

The de Young Open 2023

September 30, 2023 - January 7, 2024

Building on the tremendous success of the inaugural The de Young Open in 2020, the second triennial of this juried community art exhibition features submissions by artists from the nine Bay Area counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma. Artworks are hung “salon style,” installed nearly edge to edge and floor to ceiling, maximizing the number of works displayed.

In this piece, I am looking to capture the stages of development of an important life decision, the change in a state of mind, or the phases of adaptation that take us to the first step in the right direction. That first step comes with a renewed sense of freedom, excitement, clarity, serenity, and confidence toward our personal path — a new awakening.
